Every year, our school organizes the Bal Mela festival. We invite over 100 impoverished schools and provide a variety of sports and activities. , a space for children to express their creativity, enjoyable games, and many more items full of joy and enjoyment are among them. I had the chance to serve as both a student volunteer and a student in charge for “dog and the bone” , which was a fantastic learning opportunity. 

LO1 : 

As a participant in the Bal Mela arts group, I was able to use my energy to help the children have fun while participating in the activity. I thought of several strategic methods that kids could use to win the game. In order for the kids to win and stay hydrated on a hot summer day, I also gave them motivation and encouragement throughout the game. 

LO2 : 

The language barrier and having to divide my attention between so many children at once—many of them were proficient in Gujarati while I was not—posed one of the major obstacles I encountered during Bal Mela. I attempted to give instructions and grasp what they were attempting to say using a combination of gestures, emotions, and simple words even though I don’t know their language. Working with people from many backgrounds and cultures requires patience and understanding, which this experience taught me. It also improved my communication abilities. My team-mates did know gujrati so they helped me throughout so that I could communicate with them. 

LO7 :
Working with underprivileged students from government schools increased my empathy and compassion for those who were not as fortunate financially as I was. I was able to establish a rapport with the children and assist them in having fun despite the large number of people and the disparity in our backgrounds. I learned from this event how important it is to put oneself in other people’s situations and take the time to comprehend their viewpoint and experiences.
