Batch of 2024 farewell

Grade 12, a end of the most special and memorable journey of our lives  which all ends at the farewell. From laughs to tears, from creating new memories to cherishing old memories. This special ending needs a special farewell and we decided to make the 2024 farewell the best farewell FS has ever seen. I was the part of the dance team and we all were committed in giving our best to impress all of our seniors and make this farwell the best day of their life.

LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills.

Learning 11 dances was not easy for me especially because I had to also spend my time in another event in school which was just a few days before the farewell and I even had to attend a family function for which I could not come to school for 3-4 days. I had to divide my free slots for both of the events to that I can manage my time and work effectively in both of the events and cover up all of the holidays I had to take. We even came early to school for more than a week so that we can have more time in rehearsing and learning all of our dances for the farewell. We had pull out from many of our slots so that we can practice our dances. Due to the fact that we have our exams in two months, we also had to organize our time well in order to have enough time to study.

LO4 – Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience.

I took part in this event as a member of the dance team, and in order to join the team, we first had to go through tryouts. I learned my dance, recorded it, and sent it to our coordinators in the hopes of being chosen. Following our selection, we all began our dancing training. I participated in 11 of the 16 dances that we performed. To make it easier for everyone to understand the structure and flow of the dances, we divided the songs into two parodies and began rehearsing the steps in order. As a result of our commitment, our team was able to collaborate and communicate more effectively.

LO5 – Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively.

We had to coordinate well with each other for the dance to look elegant and for the event to be successful. All of our dances were group dances, some of which were only girls or only boys and some mixed. We all made the decision to work together on this by helping each other to learn the steps. Together, we put in hours of practice every day and assisted one another in learning moves, all of which paid off when we took the stage as a group. Our dance looked great since it was so synchronized and well-coordinated.

LO7 – Recognise and consider the ethics of choices and actions.

We have spent most of our time complaining about what we don’t have, complaining about the food in our school, our school’s management, and teachers but after looking at our seniors we realized that school life is the best life and we should appreciate what we have and create memories with it which we can cherish for the rest of our lives.
