Creative mela is an event wherein workshops for creative activities are held to teach these activities to the students of grade 7,8 and 9. I volunteered in this event by helping the people conducting the workshop and then learning the creative activity I was volunteering for which was dot mandala. I helped by cutting papers, painting MDF sheets and passing art supplies. I also taught the students in the absence of the teacher and helped them learn dot mandala. I showcased the learner profile knowledgeable by learning a new creative skill dot mandala. I also used self management skills by managing helping in conducting the workshop along with participating and learning the creative skill I was volunteering for dot mandala.

Takeaways :
→ I learnt how to do dot mandala and did mandala on MDF wood with the help of the teacher conducting the workshop.

→ I learnt to work in a team as I worked with other volunteers to help in the workshop which helped me learn social skills.

LO1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
I performed basic creative activities during the workshop like painting and drawing which helped me identify that I am good at painting as I was able to paint the MDF wood with uniformity. The color was smooth which helped me in doing the dot mandala easily. I developed the skill of dot mandala. I took 3 on a black paper before doing the dot mandala on MDF wood. After so many tries I was able to do better on the MDF sheet.

LO5 – Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively
While working with the other volunteers I realized that while working together I am able to do tasks that don’t interest me as they were assigned to me by the team members. I used to usually face issues during group activities as I was not able to express my ideas in the group but during this event I tried to speak my ideas and successfully worked in a team with other members learnt that while working in a team you can work effectively if you work with collaboration and demonstrate social skills and self management skills.
