Donate food

Ever since I was a kid, my family and I used to go to different ashram’s and we used to distribute food to them. I still remember when I was 11 years old we went to a school which was related to handicap students and we donated food to them multiple times. Everytime I see these people on the roads begging for food, it just bothers me so much that they are not able to get the proper amount of food one should get and it makes me want to do something for them. When I got to know that the school is providing us to donate food as our CAS experience I could not miss this opportunity to do something towards the community. Working with the children and helping them is one of my favorite things to do. Seeing them smile and have fun gives me joy. I have always wanted to help children and make them happy.

LO 4: Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience

Since donating food was initiated on the weekends, I showed perseverance and commitment by attending the session regularly and coming to the session without any hesitation. Even though I like to sleep more on weekends, I choose not to do that and instead attend this session.

LO 6: Engagement with issues of global significance:

Hunger has been a very significant global issue around the world. Choosing to donate food helped us engage with zero hunger, by doing this we have helped achieve zero hunger in the community. Here we not only donated food but also taught the students different subjects and helped them learn their regular studies.

LO 7: Recognize and consider the ethics of choice and actions:

This LO has been one of the most important in this experience, because we were there with small children who were not that educated and well behaved. We were supposed to follow a few rules which included not to disrespect the children and obey them. By following these rules we were able to maintain a decent atmosphere around the children and were able to have a good time without anything going wrong.
