When I heard about the opportunity to help host the farewell for my seniors, I was excited for the event as it is overall a great experience and I wouldn’t miss an opportunity to use my skills for making their farewell a memorable day. I was selected or the dance tea through an audition from where we practiced our hearts out to perfect our paradies. There were many setbacks but we overcame them and made the event successful. The seniors adored the event and the night event with smiles on everyone’s faces.
LO2- Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
We were pretty late while preparing for the farewell which is why the dates were postponed. However with little time. We squeezed in the time to practice dance and get the routine clear daily. Everyone’s times were clashing with classes and practice sessions. We came up with a plan to come during playtimes, and set into groups to practice, this way everyone could practice. I dedicated my free time to practice and perfect my dance.
LO4- show commitment and perseverance for a CAS experience
Coming early to school, using free slots etc was taking a toll on my studies and sleep. It was tough to manage everything all together but I stood my ground and took everything one by one. I didn’t give up and managed my priorities straight.
LO5 Demonstrate the skills and recognise the benefits of working collaboratively.
Since we were already late to the planning of farewell, the decor team had to overwork and finish their work quickly, so once my dance parody was done, I decided to lend them a helping hand in painting, delivering props, etc. Thankfully, we were able to complete everything on time.
Ultimately, seeing the smiles on the faces of our seniors and witnessing their enjoyment of the event made all the challenges worthwhile. This CAS experience not only allowed me to develop new skills but also taught me valuable lessons in teamwork, commitment, and perseverance. It was truly an unforgettable journey, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of it.
