At FSMUN 10.0, I had the opportunity to be a delegate in an IPL auction simulation, initially representing team Delhi. Later, in a second mega auction round, I worked with a new team where we navigated a budget to build a balanced squad. This experience allowed me to engage deeply in various skills through an interactive and competitive environment.

LO1 – Identify Own Strengths and Develop Areas for Growth

Participating in the FSMUN IPL auction gave my teammates and me a platform to identify our strengths while pinpointing areas for growth. Taking on roles similar to franchise owners or team managers, we each contributed unique abilities, such as negotiation tactics, strategic planning, and adaptability. Personally, I recognized that I could sharpen my decision-making speed under pressure, which was crucial in the fast-paced auction format.

This experience sharpened my negotiation abilities and deepened my financial literacy as we had to work under the constraints of the budget. The FSMUN auction was also a chance for my peers and me to evaluate the ethics behind our decisions and actions. We had to think critically about how our choices impacted our team’s performance and ensure fair play within our bidding tactics. Ethical decision-making played a major role, teaching us about responsibility and ethical leadership as we weighed the potential impact of every choice before taking action.
