Garba Fest ( Activity )

I participated in an exhilarating Garba fest, dancing non-stop for three hours straight. This experience was both physically demanding and culturally enriching, offering me a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the CAS Learning Outcomes I achieved.

LO 1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
Dancing for an extended period pushed me to recognize my stamina and endurance, which were tested throughout the evening. While I managed to keep up with the fast-paced rhythm, I realized that I could work on improving my agility to better follow some of the intricate Garba steps. This insight motivates me to engage in more physical activities to build both strength and flexibility.

LO 2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills
One of the biggest challenges was maintaining the energy and coordination required for Garba. While I had danced at social events before, this was my first time participating in Garba for such a long duration. The continuous movement tested my perseverance, and I developed better rhythm and coordination as the night progressed. This experience also helped me learn how to pace myself while dancing to avoid burnout.

LO 4: Show perseverance and commitment in activities
Dancing for three hours was not only a test of endurance but also of commitment. Even when I felt tired or out of breath, I stayed committed to the rhythm and the vibrant atmosphere. The energy of the crowd motivated me to keep going, and by the end, I felt accomplished knowing that I had seen the experience through without giving up.

LO 6: Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance
Participating in Garba gave me a deeper appreciation for cultural traditions. Garba is more than just a dance; it is a form of cultural expression that holds deep significance in Indian tradition. Engaging in this event allowed me to connect with this rich cultural heritage and helped me appreciate the importance of preserving and participating in global traditions that foster community and celebration.

Through this experience, I not only improved my physical stamina but also grew in my appreciation of cultural expression, perseverance, and commitment. It was an unforgettable night filled with energy, music, and personal growth.
