Garba Fest is a annual event at FS. This event is hosted to celebrate a 9 day festival Navratri, this even honors the culture and values this festival brings with it. Garba fest 2023 was celebrated together with MYP, DP students and teachers. As a part of the organizing committee of this event , I and a group of their students worked together to ensure seamless and coherent execution of the event. Our teamwork and collaboration ascertained to provide a cherishable and culturally rich experience to all of the student and teacher participants.
LO3 : demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience
organization and decoration is no doubt the face of the event but planning and logistics are the backbone . We as a team planned things through a spreadsheet and chatspace for effective communication. We rolled out forms to grades 7,8,9,10,11,12 and teachers , they were expected to fill the form to show their interest in participating in the event. According to the responses in the form we streamlined the no.of students per grade and planned the event accordingly.
LO1 : Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
As I initially embarked upon this journey, I quickly realized that effective communication played a crucial role to increase the efficiency of the event. I interpreted that without the capability to communicate efficiently and effectively the flawless execution of the event would become even more difficult. Henceforth, I decided to improve my communication skills and share ideas and opinions to my teammates would make some part of the execution easier.
LO5: demonstrate skills and and recognise the effects of working collaboratively.
The success of the coherent execution of the event was made possible because of the everyone’s collaborative efforts towards the event. The teamwork put in certain components of the event wasn’t a choice it was necessity. We allocated tasks among ourselves for efficient work given the time constraint. Our teamwork and collaborative efforts has had helped us in planning , decorating as well as the execution of the event.
