This event was planned for February 2024 with the goal of encouraging students to apply business physiology, economics, and business acumen while also helping to raise money for donations. Students themselves planned a variety of stalls (food, entertainment, and activities) for the occasion. I set up a food stall with five other students, and we served three different kinds of food. The cookie-icecream sandwich were our best-selling item among them. 

LO4 (Show perseverance and commitment in the CAS experience) 

I was able to show my CAS experience perseverance and devotion through the event by continuously supporting the team’s efforts in the face of challenges. The event’s main takeaway was that I was able to demonstrate my CAS experience’s commitment and endurance. Even though I faced a lot of difficulties, I discovered how important it is to have a positive outlook and work hard to achieve our common objectives. I feel like I’ve become stronger and more determined as a result of this, and I can use it in other aspects of my life.

LO5 (Showcase abilities and advantages of teamwork) 

The ability to demonstrate the advantages of teamwork and its skills was another essential learning goal. Working closely with my teammates, communicating clearly, and assigning responsibilities according to individual strengths were all necessary. I gained knowledge on how to collaborate well with people, take advantage of different viewpoints, and establish rapport and trust with team members as a result of this. These abilities are necessary in any collaborative environment, whether it be personal, professional, or academic.

LO6: Global Issues of Significance: Engagement

Lastly, by advocating for the value of ethical corporate practices and philanthropic causes, the event gave me the chance to get involved with global issues. I now have a better knowledge of the significance of sustainability, social responsibility, and moral business conduct in fostering constructive social change as a result of taking part in this event. This improved my empathy and global awareness by allowing me to relate what I had learned in school to opportunities and challenges in the real world.

LO3 : Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a cas experience.

“During Global Odyssey, I demonstrated LO3 by taking the initiative to plan and execute a food stall with my team. We began by brainstorming ideas for what food items would appeal to a broad audience, considering dietary preferences and sourcing options. After settling on a menu, we organized the logistics, such as budgeting for ingredients, assigning roles within the team, and setting up the stall. This experience helped me understand the importance of thorough planning and teamwork in ensuring the success of a project.”
