For the past year, I have dedicated myself to playing football at school. Having played football for many years before, I wanted to improve my skills and stay fit. I trained regularly, putting in long hours each week. This commitment helped me sharpen my football abilities and maintain my physical fitness.

LO1: Identify Own Strengths and Develop Areas for Growth

When I started this year, I recognized that my strengths were my speed and agility. However, I knew I needed to work on my technical skills, especially in ball control and passing. For the first six months, we trained in a small space where we focused on passing, fitness, and small-sided games. I set specific goals to improve my control and precision, practicing drills that would help me. As time went on, I could see my progress, which boosted my confidence.

LO2: Demonstrate that Challenges Have Been Undertaken, Developing New Skills

This journey wasn’t without challenges. I sometimes doubted myself, especially when learning new techniques like dribbling under pressure. However, these challenges motivated me to push myself. After six months of training, we began playing matches. Facing different opponents taught me to adapt quickly and work on my strategic thinking. Every time I mastered a new skill or helped my team win, I felt a sense of accomplishment.

LO4: Show Perseverance and Commitment in CAS Experience

Staying committed to football was essential. I attended practices three times a week, even when I felt tired from school. On tough days, I reminded myself of my goals and the joy of playing. This determination not only improved my skills but also helped me build a strong mindset that I can apply in other areas of my life.

LO5: Demonstrate Skills and Benefits of Working Collaboratively

Football is a team sport, and this experience highlighted the importance of working together. Every practice and game required clear communication and trust among teammates. I focused on supporting others, offering encouragement and feedback. This teamwork led to better performance and strengthened our bonds as a team. I learned that we can achieve more together than alone.

Conclusion

Overall, my year in football has been a rewarding experience. I’ve identified my strengths, faced challenges, and committed to my training. Most importantly, I’ve learned the value of teamwork and collaboration. As I continue to play and grow, I will carry these lessons with me, knowing they will help me in many areas of life. This CAS experience has made me a better footballer and a more resilient person.
