The annual kalakriti hosted by our school is all about students being able to showcase their creative skills in terms of music, dance, and more. I was part of the management of the event, where my role was to ensure that all participants reach the venue according to their performance time, prepare certificates for the winners, and ensure the running of the event according to the timetable that was established as a part of my service experience in CAS.

LO4- Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experience

Taking on the role of ensuring participant arrival times, preparing certificates, and overseeing the event schedule showcases a significant commitment to the event’s success which shows the commitment to the event. Moreover, events rarely go exactly according to plan and kalakriti was no exception. Unexpected delays or last-minute changes occurred. We had a problem with time management however, we were able to finish all performances in the restricted time. My perseverance came into play when I needed to problem-solve to keep the event running smoothly.

LO2- Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process

During the event, the participants had to wait in the backstage rooms however, because there were a larger number of people, the area was packed. So to manage the spacing, we had to transfer the participants to different locations and to manage different locations as well as the flow of the event was a challenge that I faced, however, with the help of strong communication between the team, we were able to host the event successfully.

LO3- Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience

Ensuring that the event ran smoothly according to the pre-established timetable demonstrates my ability to plan effectively. This aspect is crucial in managing any event and reflects my proactive approach to maintaining structure throughout the process.

The event helped me to develop the learner profile communicator as due to the event flow that was disrupted and to manage that communication between the team, with the participants, with the teacher in charge, and the event organizers was to be done. With the help of the event, I was able to develop my communication skills.
