This year, I was part of the Monsoon Musing event. I was a part of the editorial team and helped the whole team with the anchoring of the event. Monsoon Musing is an event that is held every year at our school. This event empowers students to write up and unleash their creativity. Every participating member is expected to come up with a piece based on the themes that are a part of the event, and then on the day of the event show up to school and present their creativity. The theme we had as part of the event was The End of HumAnIty, Humorous Business of Politics, Slice of Life with Emotions, and the story of My Life covering diverse topics and participants.

We had more than 45 participants on the day of the event each filled with creativity and something to share. As an anchor on the event My job was a introduce everyone to the stage and help ensure the event is smooth. Add in fillers when necessary and ensure that the event goes as planned. Preparing a script that was non-monotonous and relevant to the event was a challenge. Managing time out of my regular slot to prepare for the event with the editorial team with my co-anchors was fun, but challenging at the same time as it required a lot of planning, creativity, and coordination. This was also something that I was not very familiar with because it required me to come up with ideas with relevance to a literary event.

LO3 – Initiate and plan a CAS experience:

As mentioned above, it took a lot of planning and coordination for the event on the day and behind the scenes for this to be a success. It required me to schedule multiple meetings taking out common convenient times with peers was a challenge. However, with proper time management skills, I was able to initiate and plan a CAS experience.

LO4 – Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience.

Committing time to this was essential so that I could deliver relevant content on the day of the event. Which meant a lot of planning and hours behind the scenes that went through to prepare a script. The planning process started more than 2 weeks ago, which included coordinating with the rest of the editorial team and reviewing event entries in advance. This required a lot of time to be given to the event so that it would be enjoyable for everyone.

LO7 – Recognise and consider the ethics of choices and actions.

Alongside the reviewing and anchoring of the event, I was exposed to a lot of different opinions from both my team and more importantly the entries that I went through. This enlightened me on a lot of sensitive topics like gender stereotypes, internal dilemmas, politics, and many others. Many of these are often taken for granted or not put enough justice to during my routine life. Hence, this event allowed me to recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions.

In conclusion, The event was a success and I was able to pull off the anchoring and help the editorial team to my best. The event was successful and I also received positive feedback on the same.
