For this CAS experience, I opted for Monsoon Musings a language and literature event where people share their viewpoints regarding any topic using various literary forms like poems or short stories. This experience was particularly out of my comfort zone because of the fact that I did not view myself as a person that would be interested in literary events, regardless of this viewpoint, I worked tirelessly to contribute to the event’s success by being a host at the venue and working tirelessly behind the scenes for the script and coordinating with participants regarding any potential queries they might have.
Learning Goals:
L2. Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills
By stepping outside my comfort zone and participating in an event that I didn’t previously used to view positively I undertook new challenges which helped me develop my communication and research skills as a host at the venue it was necessary to develop these skills.
L5 Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively
As a host I collaborated with the partner assigned at my venue to ensure a smooth flow of the event and ensure that if any mistakes occured they would be quickly covered without encountering any form of negative criticism.
