As an art student, I constantly seek opportunities to delve into various mediums and textures. This particular opportunity has been instrumental in acquainting me with the dynamics of undertaking substantial projects. The disparity between working on canvas and working on a wall became evident, and engaging in this activity facilitated an understanding of maneuvering freely with hands on a wall. The entire experience has imparted valuable lessons that I foresee will greatly benefit me in the future.

LO1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

Participating in this activity allowed me to discern my strengths and weaknesses. Initially, I encountered challenges in adjusting my posture and brush handling technique. A notable weakness was my struggle to paint sizable lines with ease. However, acknowledging this deficiency prompted me to seek guidance from my teacher, resulting in significant improvement. Overcoming this hurdle not only enhanced my current skills but also equipped me with techniques applicable to future large-scale projects.

LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills.

Embarking on this task initially appeared daunting. Though enthusiastic about the project, executing the painting posed unforeseen challenges. The vast expanse of the wall and the unfamiliarity of drawing cartoons compounded my apprehension. Additionally, the wall’s texture posed obstacles to erasure, allowing no room for mistakes. Despite these obstacles, tackling the challenge methodically by sketching lightly with a pencil and seeking guidance facilitated gradual mastery. This experience furnished me with invaluable lessons for future endeavors.

LO4 – Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience

Numerous factors contributed to the complexity of this activity. Time constraints imposed the need for early arrival and intense commitment outside of regular school hours. Balancing this project alongside academic responsibilities, especially nearing exams, presented its own set of challenges. However, demonstrating perseverance and unwavering commitment proved essential in overcoming these hurdles.

The insights gained from this experience hold immense value, aligning closely with my aspirations in the field of arts. The skills honed through this endeavor not only benefit my personal growth but also contribute to enhancing the aesthetic appeal of our school environment. With beautifully adorned walls, our school stands to gain from this collaborative effort, underscoring the significance of such practical experiences in shaping both individual trajectories and communal spaces.
