2 Day Trek programme

We went to Igatpuri, Maharastra for the two-day trek program which was an unforgettable experience which include a lot of fun activites. The trip also included cleaning the dam, during this I realised how often we litter and harm the beautiful views of the area. We also visited to the nearby school provided with several essential lessons which would also be beneficial in the long run.Communicating with the kids and getting into an engaging and unexpected change in their envionment felt very natural and fulfilling. Our main objective was to go on trek while also engaging in conversation with the locals. Overall this experience taught me a lot of new skills while offering insight into Maharastrian culture.

LO1 – Identify your own strengths and develop in areas for growth.

We went trekking twice during this trip, which was a little challenging because it rained in between. I had to hold my umbrella with one hand and manage everything with that hand, and the rocks were a little slippery, which increased the risk. When we went to the goverment school, I faced language barrier as they were communicating in marathi with us and they were not able to understand hindi so we used to converse in hindi with the teachers and then they explained them in marathi which then became a bit easy to communicate.

LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills

As mentioned, I faced difficulty during the trek as it was monsoon and it would rain in between of the trek which was a bit difficult for me as there were muddy puddles, slippery rock and etc which could cause injuries if missed a step. Our instructor told us to use the strategy which would help, To be in group and hold each others hand where there were high slopes with slippery rocks which helped us as there was support however still it had many risk as if one could fall we all could fall.As previously mentioned, I experienced some difficulties with the treks because it was monsoon season and it would rain occasionally. This made things challenging for me because there were muddy puddles, slippery rocks, and other risks that could have hurt  if you missed a step. The instructor guided us that  when there were slippery slopes with uneven rocks, form a group and hold each other’s hands. This helped us because there was support, but still there were still risks because if one person fell, we may all fall.

LO4 –  Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience

The trek provides a chance to show dedication and personal development by overcoming challenges and embracing outdoor adventure. This experience required a lot of dedication and energy on my side.My energy was totally drained throughout the trek, but we were nearly there as the way down was just as difficult as the rocks were slippery.
