For my CAS experience I participated in the Global Odyssey Event that was organised by the Economics and the Business Management teams and as both of these subjects are my HL subjects I was more inclined to participate in this event. I with my 4 other friends organised a stall in the food category of this event and we provided the attendees with a wide range of menu from steamy hot peri peri french fries to refreshing cold jello.

LO3: Initiating and Planning a CAS Experience

Being a part of Global Odyssey demonstrated my capacity to organise and lead a significant CAS experience. I took the lead and organised a food stand with my pals, where we served delicious Momos and cool mint mojitos to guests while showcasing our cooking skills. I was actively involved in creating our food stand, from designing our menu to planning the finances and scheduling the necessary supplies. This experience gave me priceless insights into collaboration, entrepreneurship, and event planning.

LO4: Showing Commitment and Perseverance

During the entire process of organising and running our food stand at Global Odyssey, I showed steadfast dedication and persistence. From locating premium ingredients to painstakingly crafting our dishes, we faced obstacles that put our commitment to the test. Unexpected challenges, such scheduling conflicts and inventory management, didn’t deter us from achieving our objective of providing a remarkable gastronomic experience. Our shared enthusiasm for making a significant contribution to the event was highlighted by our dedication to excellence and fortitude in the face of adversity.

LO5: Demonstrating Collaborative Skills

The key to our food stall’s success at Global Odyssey was teamwork. Together with my pals, we made the most of our unique talents to give guests a seamless and interesting experience. Achieving a seamless running of our booth required excellent teamwork in allocating roles, scheduling shifts and providing customer service. Each participant offered special knowledge and abilities that promoted a sense of unity and assistance amongst them. As we handled every facet of our stall—from food preparation to customer interactions—the advantages of teamwork were clear. We developed enduring friendships and improved our teamwork skills in addition to delivering delectable goodies via honest communication and cooperative decision-making. The event brought to light the transforming potential of teamwork in accomplishing common objectives and forging deep bonds throughout our school community.
