“Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth.” People who ensure that everyone lives in a community where equality is attained have always inspired me. I was able to work with kids who didn’t have the experience to adjust to an educational environment that prioritizes practical learning thanks to this wonderful initiative by the school. As I helped and taught science projects to share my understanding of science with these eager children, it was a delight to connect and interact with them.

Learning outcome 4 : Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience
For me, waking up early on holidays is one of the most tedious tasks. To wake up early on Saturdays and Sundays for 3 weeks was a task for me but because I enjoyed the process so much, I loved showing commitment to the process. It’s not only about presence but to make the presence worth it by putting in effort and during all the sessions I made sure I put in effort so that children feel that after going back home, they did learn and productively used their time.

Learning outcome 5 : Demonstrate skills and benefit of working collaboratively
To make an initiative successful, it is really important for everyone to collaboratively work together to make the most of the time. As I had my colleagues with me working for the same cause, listening to their ideas, putting inputs to ideas, communicating to share struggles, criticizing, learning new ways was a great experience and a must to enjoy the process. It was not only with the people working with me rather the children who were learning also because there were things that they lacked and things I lacked like conversing in gujarati so we both collaborated, learned from each other and made it a wonderful experience.

Learning outcome 6 : Engagement with issues of global significance
One of the most important UN sustainable goals “Quality education” is not rightly achieved by schools that give priority to theoretical knowledge and studies. Our school has given us an opportunity to experience experiential learning and even they should explore that so the projects that were designed was designed in a way so that they can connect experiments with the concepts to achieve QUALITY education.
