Aanand Utsav was an event organised by the grade 11 students for our school’s staff (didis and bhaiyas) to thank them for all they do for us and for taking care of us every day. We planned games and dance performances for them so they could enjoy one day doing something they normally don’t do in school. I was part of the games and decor team.

LO 5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively

I joined the event’s decor team a little late but we had a lot of work left with very minimal time. This is when teamwork helped us. In the end, we also planned to give our thank you cards to didis and bhaiyas and the design had to be made which was another work added. Working together helped us divide the work amongst ourselves, for example, I took the responsibility of making the thank you cards and finishing the paper chains. This way, were were able to meet deadlines and complete our tasks on time.

All the didis and bhaiyas enjoyed the event a lot and seeing them enjoy themselves made me happy; the smiles on their faces made me feel like all the efforts we put into the event were rewarded. We closed off the event by going garba with all the didis and bhaiyas which was truly a memorable experience; this day, I saw how small actions can lead to great happiness and this thought is something I will always keep with myself.
