As a passionate photographer with an insatiable curiosity for Astronomy, as a CAS experience I choose to enter the world of astrophotography. This endeavor has combined my love for capturing images with my fascination for celestial objects.
My journey began with extensive research on astrophotography techniques and equipment. I learned about the importance of choosing the right camera, lens, and tripod for capturing clear and detailed images of the night sky. Additionally, I familiarized myself with various software tools that could be used to process and enhance astrophotographs.
One of the most challenging aspects of astrophotography is dealing with light pollution. To overcome this obstacle, I sought out remote locations with minimal light interference. I also learned how to plan my photography sessions around the phases of the moon and the position of celestial objects in the sky.
Over time, I successfully captured images of various celestial events, including lunar phases, star trails, and constellations. I experimented with different exposure times, ISO settings, and focusing techniques to achieve the desired results. The process was both rewarding and challenging, as it required patience, precision, and a deep understanding of astronomical phenomena.

Learning Outcomes:
- LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills: Astrophotography presented several challenges, such as overcoming light pollution, mastering camera settings, and processing images. Through perseverance and practice, I developed new skills in these areas.
- LO3: Initiate and plan a CAS experience: I took the initiative to plan and execute my astrophotography project, including researching equipment, scheduling photography sessions, and learning about celestial events.
- LO4: Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience: Astrophotography requires patience and dedication, as it often involves late nights and challenging weather conditions. I persevered through these obstacles and remained committed to my project.
