As part of my CAS, I took part in the Global Odyssey Event, which was coordinated by the teams for business management and economics. Since business management is my HL subject, I was particularly motivated to take part in this event. In the food section of the festival, my three friends and I set up a stand and served a variety of dishes to the patrons, including warm waffles and cool lemonades.

LO3: Initiating and Planning a CAS Experience

Participating in Global Odyssey proved that I was able to plan and direct a big CAS experience. I took the initiative and got my friends to help me create a food stand where we showed off our culinary prowess and offered them waffles and refreshing strawberry lemonades. I took a hands-on approach to developing our food stand, helping with everything from menu design to financial budgeting and arranging for supplies. I gained invaluable knowledge about teamwork, entrepreneurship, and event organising from this experience.

LO4:  Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experience.

I was unwaveringly committed and persistent throughout setting up and managing our food station at Global Odyssey. From sourcing excellent ingredients to meticulously preparing our dishes, we encountered challenges that truly tested our dedication. Unexpected difficulties with inventory control and scheduling constraints didn’t stop us from accomplishing our goal of offering an exceptional culinary experience. Our commitment to quality and perseverance in the face of difficulty demonstrated our enthusiasm for contributing significantly to the event.

LO5: Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively

Collaboration was essential to the success of our culinary booth at Global Odyssey. My friends and I maximised our special abilities to provide visitors with a smooth and engaging experience. Our booth needed great teamwork to assign tasks, schedule shifts, and provide customer service in order to run smoothly. Each member contributed unique skills and information that helped the group feel more unified and supportive of one another. The benefits of working as a team became evident as we managed all aspect of our stall, from food preparation to client interactions. Through open communication and collaborative decision-making, we not only delivered delicious treats but also strengthened our teamwork abilities and formed enduring friendships.
