Title: From Inbox Surprise to Design Triumph: My CAS Odyssey in Architecture
Introduction:
You recognize that feeling while you test your e-mail and BAM! There’s a message that makes your day? That’s exactly what befell to me this January. “Open Classroom Design and Consent Form” popped into my inbox, and all of sudden my internal architect was doing a victory dance.
The Teamwork Tango (with a Hint of Solo Flights):
Now, I wasn’t absolutely flying solo in this journey. I teamed up with someone for the undertaking (allow’s just say they have been my associate-in-crime for brainstorming periods). We spent hours tossing thoughts around, picturing a modern open classroom that felt like a huge hug from nature. Then, I took the lead at the design using Sketchup. Think clever boards, maxed-out pupil capability, and sufficient natural vibes to make every person sense zen.
LO1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth LO4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences LO5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively Lo 6- contributes to improving learning environments—an issue of global significance. The quality of educational spaces directly impacts student engagement and well-being, yet it is often overlooked. Our school helped highlight this concern through a design competition, in which I participated to develop a more inclusive and effective learning space. LO7 (Recognizing and considering the ethics of choices and actions), as designing learning spaces requires careful ethical considerations. An effective classroom must be inclusive, accessible, and sustainable, ensuring that no students are disadvantaged due to poor design. By taking these factors into account in my final model, I ensured that the space would promote equity and well-being rather than create further barriers to learning. |
The Juggling Act (and the Occasional All-Nighter):
Let’s be sincere, this task wasn’t pretty much growing cool stuff. It turned into a complete-on studying experience! Balancing schoolwork, layout paintings, and those ever-gift SAs (you realize the war – exams, assignments, the entire drill) became like a 3-ring circus! There were late nights fueled by caffeine and sheer dedication (and perhaps some moments of “Ugh, why did I join up for this?”). But whats up, it really is how I learned to prioritize like a champ, tackling CAS obligations after crushing the most crucial stuff.
The Sweet Satisfaction (and a Few Lessons Learned):
Squeezing layout time between classes, extracurriculars, and people SAs wasn’t easy. But the excellent feedback from my instructors stored me going, and I hit that deadline like a boss! This CAS challenge grew to become out to be an epic journey, in spite of the juggling act. It helped me explore my career path, sharpen my design competencies, and grow to be with a creation I’m without a doubt head-over-heels proud of.
Yes, balancing everything wasn’t a walk within the park. There have been moments after I wondered my sanity (particularly during the ones overdue-night time layout periods). But in the long run, the final product became really worth all of it. More importantly, I learned some valuable instructions approximately collaboration, time control, and pure dedication. So yeah, perhaps it wasn’t a super win-win, however the experience turned into actually unforgettable.
