Exploring the beauty and serenity of Mokhamal village, Dang, was an enriching experience. Providing me with relevant knowledge about the economy, lifestyle, governance, and schooling. structure of several systems of the developing villages and helps me learn about values and mindsets that are difficult to acknowledge elsewhere. Across-the-board with the activities associated with rural life like the minimalist lifestyle and creative yet effective ways to work alongside the environment, fostered me harboring a unique standpoint to life.

LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills. During this trip, I discovered two of my strengths. First, I realized that I am quite adaptable to new environments. Unlike some of my friends who found it hard to adjust to the simple lifestyle, I was comfortable with the basic food and minimalistic lifestyle. Second, I found that I am patient when learning new skills, like when I struggled with making a basket out of the sticks but kept trying until I made a decent storage basket. However, I noticed that I need to improve my leadership skills. In group activities, such as welding and team activities I often stayed quiet and let others take charge and as a result did not participate much in those activities. I want to work on being more confident in taking the lead during such situations.

LO4 – Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience.

Throughout the trip, I believe I successfully demonstrated my commitment to learning and engaging with new experiences. On the first day, I actively participated in cutting crops and even tried my hand at de-husking rice at a tribe member’s house. The following day, I eagerly learned about the healthcare and government practices in Dang, as well as the operations of the milk chilling factory that supports the tribes’ livelihoods. On the third day, I explored the local “Haat” bazaar, gaining insights into the community’s trade practices. I also showed curiosity in understanding the village’s marriage and caste systems. A significant moment of commitment was during our visit to the local school. I genuinely enjoyed playing with the children and teaching them games like Kho-Kho, Football, and Frisbee. I felt fully involved in various activities at the school, from attending classes with the kids to playing and sharing meals with them, making it a truly enriching experience.

LO5 – Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively. One activity which stood out to me to demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively was evident while doing activities such as Basket Making, Warli painting, and welding. All three activities required a lot of skills to perfectly do the job. While making the basket out of bamboo strips, I improved my gross-motor skills as well as collaboration and social skills, although we faced a lot of challenges in building the desired product together, this helped the work to get easier, efficient and faster, we worked on all projects to help the locals benefit from our work.

LO6 – Engagement with issues of global significance. While analysing the trip to Dang, I could correlate the Sustainable Goals effectively to the situations and the lifestyle of the tribes, with few prominent SDGs such as No poverty; Quality Education; Zero hunger; good health and well-being prominently noticeable. These issues do not remain entitled only to the towns of India but are widespread across the globe, and finding the root cause of the significant problem helped us to help them directly able to fight the cores. We therefore helped the children in the school get easy access to books and stationery which would help them get education, healthy meals and nutritious supplies to tackle the the problems of zero hunger as well as improving health and well-being. Overall with this initiative we were strongly able to make a positive consequence on community

To conclude, this trip taught me a lot of things, first and foremost the knowldge I gained through this trip was immense, from thier lifestyle, source of income, political structures to their culture, I understood every aspect of their lifes. More importantly I will take back the life lessons that stuck in my heart — Realising the privilage we do get, I feel it will only be fair if we give back to the society and be grateful for every small thing we have, I learnt this from the children in the school we visited, To see them smile for everything made me reflect on the same.
