Community service by it’s name sounds contributing to a good cause and service,the event was all about giving our learnings in terms of sports and arts to a few underprivileged students from a school without the facilities like computers,appropriate sports equipments and without the learning of arts and sports.I enrolled to the event to complete my CAS experiences but during the event i realised how a little contribution could give so much happiness and a bit of learning to other people,furthermore it also helped my communication skills get better as i communicated with the students despite of not knowing their mother tongue properly.

Learning outcome 3 –  initiate and plan a CAS experience
Initially i was supposed to be a part of teaching football however one of me peer requested me to join him for gymnastics as he was alone,we planned the activities for a few weekends in very short time and we initiated it safely and successfully.Moreover gymnastics is a sport in which injuries are really easy and also we did not know how much knowledge did the underprivileged ones have which was a challenge but we overcame it through planning and strategy making splitting our roles and making batches of children.

Learning outcome 6 – Engagement with Global Issues

This programme organised was meant to help and teach the underprivileged ones the skills they never got to learn,to have fun and engage with the activities which we as privileged students do.This taught us how quality education matters not only in academics but also in extracurriculars moreover unfortunately because of poverty issues these children do not have the facilities that we do have which made us see issues because of poverty.

Learning outcome 7 – Ethics of Choices and Actions

While mentoring them, it was important for us to connect with them on a deeper level, understanding their backgrounds, the facilities available to them, and their perspectives on the program. Engaging in these conversations gave us insight into their daily struggles and challenges, making us more aware of the stark contrast between our realities.Through these discussions, we realized the gravity of issues like electricity, food, and water conservation. Many of them face situations where they do not always have enough food to eat, and some even live without access to electricity in their homes. Hearing about their experiences firsthand was eye-opening and made us truly appreciate the privileges we often take for granted. This experience not only strengthened our connection with them but also instilled in us a sense of responsibility to be more mindful about reducing wastage and using resources wisely.
