Every year at FHS, an eagerly awaited event welcomes students from government schools to a day filled with joy, creativity, and learning. This event blends fun with meaningful activities, such as arts and crafts, sports, IT sessions, and more, providing underprivileged students with a chance to explore, learn, and express themselves. As the Incharge of the arts and crafts sector, I, along with my team, planned and organized several engaging activities, including stone painting, hand painting, and creating paper snakes. This event spanned several weekends over the course of a month, offering the children a platform to unleash their creativity while learning new skills. Volunteers were instrumental in guiding the children through every step of the activities, ensuring their success and fostering a supportive environment.
LO3: Initiate and Plan a CAS Experience
Planning the arts and crafts section was a transformative experience that required meticulous organization and creative thinking. My role involved conceptualizing simple yet innovative activities, gathering necessary resources, and ensuring every detail was considered to guarantee smooth execution. From coordinating with volunteers to structuring the day’s schedule, I ensured that every participant—volunteers and children alike—was fully engaged and supported. This experience reinforced the importance of initiative and strategic planning, as well as the ability to adapt to dynamic situations.
LO4: Show Perseverance and Commitment in CAS Experience
Demonstrating perseverance and commitment throughout this event was both challenging and rewarding. Coordinating activities over several weekends required consistent dedication, from sourcing materials to ensuring that every child had a fulfilling experience. Despite moments of exhaustion, I remained focused on the goal of creating a positive and memorable experience for the children. My commitment to this initiative was fueled by the smiles and excitement of the participants, reinforcing the value of sustained effort in achieving impactful outcomes.
LO5: Demonstrate Skills and Benefits of Working Collaboratively
Collaboration played a pivotal role in the success of this event. I worked closely with team members, volunteers, and teachers to ensure seamless execution. Effective communication was key—I regularly updated volunteers about their roles, coordinated with teachers to manage the children’s schedules, and provided clear instructions to the participants during the activities. The teamwork among all involved fostered a sense of unity and shared purpose, demonstrating the immense benefits of pooling diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals.

As someone who deeply values the opportunity to assist others, I found this experience incredibly fulfilling.
