Football, a universal sport enjoyed by millions, crosses social boundaries and provides a dynamic and healthy connection. However, not everyone has the same opportunities to participate in sports such as football. This CAS experience describes my volunteer work with a local organization, where I taught underprivileged children the fundamentals of football.
Learning Outcome 1:Identifying Own Strengths and Developing Areas for Growth
Volunteering to provide educational and recreational opportunities to underprivileged children in our community allowed me to identify my strengths in leadership and empathy. I recognized my ability to organize and lead football drills and exercises, tailored to the children’s age and skill levels. Additionally, I developed my capacity for patience and adaptability, as I provided personalized attention and support to ensure every child felt included and motivated to learn.
