I was always inclined towards cyber safety and security, and the functionality of computers, which is why, I took up the opportunity of spreading this knowledge to all MYP students of our school (Grade 7 to Grade 10). We conducted various different sessions in groups during school timings and showcased our commitment towards spreading the knowledge of cyber safety and security.
Learning Outcome 1 — Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
My personal strength was my knowledge in cyber safety and security as well as my presentation skills. However, during the cyber safety and security project, I improved more on my presentation skills as I engaged with a new type of audience, young students. Hence, my knowledge of cyber safety and security did help me a lot in preparing for the presentation as I had all of the knowledge needed to share to the students while I developed my presentation skills as I engaged with them.
Learning Outcome 3 — Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience
A few colleagues and I had completely planned this CAS project, from the curriculum to the presentation. We had various meetings in early-in sessions, sat together, and completely planned the whole curriculum that we would want to cater and discussed it with our supervisor, Sachin Mannil sir. This project allowed me to completely plan out a presentation project that we would present to all students of MYP.
Learning Outcome 4 — Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences
The project lasted a lot longer than a month, and along with my IBDP program and extra-curricular activities, I had to commit some of my time to the project in the planning and the preparation of the project. Hence, I showed commitment to and perseverance in the CAS project by coming in various early-in sessions, taking out time from my school slots to conduct presentations and later on covering my syllabus, etc.
Learning Outcome 5 — Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively
We worked collaboratively by coming in early-ins, planning for the session entirely on ourselves, discussing our knowledge and different activities that we could use to engage the students and make it easier for them to understand the importance of cyber safety and how to be cyber secure on the web. Hence, by effectively using my collaborative skills, I communicated with all my peers, and during the presentations, we demonstrated our collaborative skills by internally discussing and presenting the topic to the students.
Learning Outcome 6 — Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance
Cyber safety and security is one the major global issues in today’s world. What makes this more important to cater to is the fact that a lot of teenagers in this era are on the internet, making them vulnerable to scams and frauds online that might affect them and/or their data. Therefore, by addressing cyber security and how to be safe online to the entire age group of teenagers from grade 7 to grade 10 of my school, I engaged with the global issue of cyber safety and security.
During the cyber safety and security project, I demonstrated various learner profile attributes including:

- Inquirer
- Knowledgeable
- Communicator
- Open-Minded
- Principled
- Reflective
I was a thinker and inquirer by searching and thinking about different ways through which the presentation could be made more interesting for the students, because personally, when I was this young, I was bored from this topic being presented by teachers. Hence, to make it interesting, I enlightened the inquirer within me to think about different ways via which I could share this knowledge to the students by also making it engaging for them. I was knowledgeable as I used my knowledge about cyber safety and security while preparing the presentation and presenting it to the students. I was a communicator as I communicated with my colleagues and the students during the day of the presentation. I was open-minded as I listened to perspectives of my colleague while collaborating with them and also to doubts/answers of students during the day of the presentation. I was principled throughout while coming in early-ins for the discussion of the project. I was reflective while reflecting on my presentations to work upon the upcoming presentations and make it more engaging for students.
