Donate food

My Cas experience which was donating and serving food to underprivileged children. However, it quickly evolved into something much more profound when I started volunteering with Hope School for my cas experience. Hope school was an organization dedicated to empowering underprivileged children in their education. Working closely with these children has been transformative, exposing me to the stark realities of global educational inequality and the economic barriers hindering access to education. Through this experience, I’ve gained a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by marginalized communities and the importance of grassroots initiatives in addressing these issues. This CAS experience connects to the Learning outcomes 4 and 6.

LO4 – Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience.

Committing to volunteer regularly at a food donation program or educational initiative reflects dedication to the cause, showing a willingness to contribute consistently over time despite challenges. I also dedicated one and a half hours for this donation food drive which was really hard for me and I had done 6 of these drives. I had to these drives on weekends which was again really hard for me as I had to wake up early and do these drives which again show commitment.

LO6 – Engagement with issues of global significance.

This programme referred to two issues which were hunger and quality education. Referring to education me and my fellow peers worked together and taught the kids over there few of the basic concepts such as in mathethemics we taught them multiplication, subtraction, division and also few of other basic concepts. Also me and my peers other few other subjects like english and etc. To talk about hunger me and my peers donated nutritious food to the underprivileged kids over there and also gave them biscuits sometimes. Donating them food made them smile and joyful which was really good to see.

To wrap things up, engaging in food donation activities has profoundly shifted my perspective, underscoring the blessings in my own life. Witnessing the joy on the faces of the children we served has been a poignant reminder of the importance of gratitude and generosity. It’s awakened within me a newfound appreciation for the abundance I enjoy and a recognition of the responsibility to give back to those less fortunate.
