FS Got Talent (band performance):

Date: 2nd september 2023

FS Got talent was an event organized by our school where students had opportunities to showcase their talents. Students from grade 7 to 12 had participated in this event and this event gave them a really great opportunity to perform what they are best at and what are their hobbies. Through this event I was able to develop my collaborating skills. While practicing as a team it is very important to cooperate with each other. This event also helped me boost my self- confidence by performing in public. We as a band performed 2 songs in total. These practice sessions also helped me develop/ improve my social skills.

LO1 – Identify own strengths and develop on the area of growth

Knowing your strengths and weaknesses is really important. It really helps you grow personally because you know in which area you have to improve. Personally, this experience really helped me recognize my areas of improvement. One of them was being confident while singing. Keeping a smile throughout and singing without stage fear, knowing that you sing well and you remember the whole song. Focusing on small small things like this will help me develop.

LO2- Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills

This experience highlighted the importance of challenges, as they foster growth and self-awareness.  For me, the biggest hurdle was stage fright. Performance anxiety caused me to lose confidence and expression while singing.  Another challenge was time management, juggling school deadlines and other commitments made consistent band practice difficult.

LO 3 – Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience
For my band performance CAS activity, I took the lead in initiating and organizing the experience. I first assembled a group of talented musicians (my friends) and held discussions to decide on a song to performance. We then developed a practice schedule. Planning involved creating a timeline for rehearsals and addressing challenges like setting perfect notes. This experience improved my leadership and teamwork skills, teaching me the importance of clear communication and flexibility.

LO4 Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences

Showed dedication and perseverance through consistent participation in band rehearsals, despite scheduling conflicts and academic commitments. Demonstrated commitment to the CAS experience by prioritizing practice sessions and overcoming challenges like stage fright, showcasing personal growth and resilience.

LO5- Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively

Participating in this band performance truly underscored the importance of teamwork.  It honed my communication and active listening skills in a big way.  Band rehearsals involved clear communication about song selection, desired notes, and overall musical approach.  Additionally, actively listening to my bandmates was crucial to ensure my vocals blended seamlessly with the music.
