The most awaited festival of the year is Navratri and to celebrate the festival creating unforgettable memories each year students volunteer for organizing garba fest and making it an memorable experience. This year I volunteered for organizing the event given by responsibilities to be filled. Throughout the span of time to organize the event I learned quite a lot of new skills, techniques and at the end the event turned out to be an unforgettable experience.

L3. Initiate and Plan a CAS experience

To make sure that the event runs smoothly,we distributed the work among the members of the organization committee so that everyone could finish it on time and ensure a smooth event.Despite the fact that everyone had different ideas on what to be done but coming together and choosing one idea to be executed which would look good and also be done on time wasn’t that difficult.During the process we faced a lot challenges regarding the clash with our regular slot, to work and be on time we planned for coming in early-in and working in our free slots which really helped us to make sure everything’s is done on time with proper perfection.

L2. Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills

During the whole process there were quite a few challenges faced by us in getting the desired output.Starting with,we have never managed a cultural event of this kind before.The intricacy and scope of the event presented challenges,but these challenges also provided opportunities.

By taking the responsibility, I was able to obtain valuable experience.The challenges faced during the process was to come up with creative ideas that look attractive but at the same time with the limited resources provided.Adding on, the event was falling in October and around the preparation days there were assessments conducted and classes which were important and hence managing the time was pretty difficult and as an solution to this we started working in our free slots and playtime,came early in for completing the work.The major challenges which we faced was that we had an idea for photobooth by using paper plates but when executed it, it wasn’t appealing and hence we decided to change that plan and one day before we came up with a different idea which has paper flowers all covered on the partition board.The quantity of paper flowers was a bunch of flowers that will leave no black space on the board and this also required a lot of time but as an group we decided to work on it throughout to execute it within the last few hours before the event.Working as an team and cooperating with each other helped us come up with an new idea and was executed it well.

L5. Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively

The collaboration of all the OC members was crucial to the event success. Without the cooperation among us, this event would not have been possible. There were a lot of work that needed to be completed on the given time which won’t be possibly done by one person all alone, so we had to work together as a team. To maximize the productivity, we all decided to distributed the work among ourselves which would make our work easier and would be completed faster. Me and more 3 of us was given with the Decor responsibilities. Other members of the group were given with responsibilities such as logistics, food, transport, invitation. Being a team we helped each other out with their assigned work. Everyone gave their opinions and suggestions, which made the event more successful. The major benefit working collaboratively is that we get to hear a bunch of new and creative ideas which helps us in making the event more fun and exciting. The skills that have been developed throughout the process is creativity and communication skills since we needed a few ideas for the decor and photobooth so that everyone enjoys the event also having a good communication within the group also helps in executing the event.
