Garba Fest is an event where students from 7 to 12 come together to celebrate the festival Navratri with their friends and teachers in school. I volunteered at the event by putting up a food stall. I put up a stall with one of my classmates as a collaborative effort.

LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills.

I used this LO as I had taken challenges of selling an item that I wasn’t sure would cover my costs and that was something. Additionally, this was one of the first I had put up a food stall in an event therefore the whole experience was new to me and a challenge I was undertaking. But with the challenge, I also developed new skills such as management, communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills. I developed management as I managed the whole stall alongside my friend. I had to communicate with my stall partner and the event organizers to ensure a smooth function for my stall and that there wasn’t any confusion.

LO3 – Initiate and plan a CAS experience

I planned this CAS experience as I had first to make a plan on how I execute the CAS plan. I made the CAS plan by calculating the cost of the item sold and the number of items I would sell, I also added the implicit and explicit costs so that I would get some profit when selling the product. Making this plan allowed me to have an organized structure for the CAS experience that I initiated.

LO5 – Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively.

As I was working with one of my classmates I had to make sure that I was working collaboratively with them as without proper communication there could be misunderstanding and confusion which could potentially lead to management issues. Hence I constantly communicated and collaborated with my stall partner in terms of who would bring change and who would bring utensils etc. All of this communication was important as without there could be problems such as wastage of resources etc. So I was working collaboratively with my stall partner.
