HDP PS is included in our schedule. For PS, my school provides us with a variety of sports to choose from. In a cycle, PS slots occur four times. I’ve chosen badminton as my PS course, where our instructor, Sir, not only shows us how to get better at the game but also allows us to play on our own against other students. This helps me develop my jock skills and is also an enjoyable exercise.
LO1 – identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
Being a part of my life for a very long time, badminton is one of the games I truly enjoy and have played since I was very small. Prior to starting this CAS experience, I would consider my badminton abilities to be one of my strengths. When I was younger, I didn’t know the majority of the badminton rules, despite never having played the game professionally. As this CAS experience progressed, this was one of the areas I improved.
LO2 – demonstrate challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
When I was younger, I didn’t play badminton professionally; I merely played it with my friends in my neighborhood. As a result, before taking PS, I was ignorant of the majority of its instructions. This constituted one of the primary obstacles I encountered during my CAS journey.
Along with that, I wouldn’t describe myself as particularly athletic other than that, which was a major disadvantage for me when playing badminton. Although in order to play badminton in every session, we had to work out, which helped me improve my general athletic abilities.
LO4: Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience
PS was one of my grade 11 courses. PS slots were a necessary part of our daily routine, thus coming to these sessions was essential. My attendance at almost every PS session from the start of the school year till the very end demonstrated my dedication to the CAS experience and to the game of badminton.
