I have been playing frisbee for 3-4 years and it has actively been a part of my life. I have played in countless tournaments ranging from interschool to international. But the one that stood out to me was this year’s state championship in Pune. Considering I was playing with a relatively new team with little practice.

It was difficult for me to participate at first as it was a relatively new team and I had to juggle school submissions and assignments as well. However, I decided that there is a first time for everything and faced my fears and participated in the game. I was also selected as the spirit captain and since it was my first time in this tournament i was very nervous but i did not give up and learned a lot throughout the tournament. I created a new bond with my teamed during ps slots.

It was difficult to bond with teammates because I was not very open with them, however, filling up the accreditations gave me a chance to bond and communicate with them and sooner during travelling with them we grew closer. I did not miss a chance to play or talk with them where I could and made good friends with them at the end. I learned to be open minded and communicate with others. It helped me understand them better and trust them more in and out of the field. 

LO7

As the spirit captain if there are any calls on unfair games or biased thinking we had to ensure our teammates and the opponents were on the same page and with good spirit with each other. Unfortunately there were a lot of disagreements in the game where we needed to communicate with the opponents spirit captain and come up with a solution. There was lots of contact where we communicated each other’s point of view and came up with an agreement. This game is an opportunity to think with a clear and a fair mind and effectively talk with my teammates and opponents. 

Overall it was a very fun experience and I learned a lot there. We placed 3rd in state championship and I was proud of it. I learned to be open minded and communicate with others which helped me to trust them on the field.
