The role assigned to me for the event was to find out several mathematical puzzles and riddles, which were going to be displayed on the board. During the course of the research I visited several websites, and shortlisted the most challenging and age-appropriate riddles. The learning engagements for the CAS experience are:

L2(Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills)

My biggest challenge for this event was ensuring self-management and time management. Since the preparation of the event was parallel with my learning classes, I had balance out the learning loss at home. Further, since I had to work collaboratively in a pair, I had to focused during the preparations in order to complete them within the deadline. Me and my partner effectively developed social skills by avoiding distractions during the preparations time, and only engaging in relevant things.

L3(Initiate and plan a CAS experience)
In the beginning I attended group meetings regarding the event wherein the roles of each were discussed. I then engaged in other discussion regarding the proceedings of the event, decoration theme, topic for stalls, etc.

L5(Work collaboratively)
I was divided with a pair for the task of finding the riddles. We both collaborated amongst each other and came to a common consensus regarding which puzzles to be displayed. Before beginning the research we both divided the task amongst each other and created a common google docs for all our findings. Simultaneously we both helped the decor team, and on the day of the event we displayed our riddles.

In conclusion, the event of Pi day helped me transform as an event planner, and reminded me of my responsibilities as a maths enthusiast. This experience provided an opportunity for me to showcase my mathematics and event planning skills, and understand the importance of collaboration in a group task, by prioritising crucial elements.
