I have been practising athletics since the 6th grade but due to lockdown because of COVID-19 naturally I was forced on a break. However 11th grade came as an incredible opportunity to relive and brush up skills from the past, hence I opted for athletics as a part of my personal sports.
However it was an uphill battle for me.(LOI 2) To begin with,I have been diagnosed with tachycardia which acted as a huge obstacle for me.There were times where I just wanted to quit because my body was not supportive and on top of that, practising this high endurance sport after almost a 3 year break turned out to be extremely challenging.
But despite all of this,I was still determined to finish what I had taken up.(LOI 4) Therefore I attend almost every class even on the days when I just felt like laying in bed. There were even times when my friends tried to persuade me to not attend PS,but due to my commitment and perseverance I chose to.
This whole journey taught me a lot.A part of that were my areas of improvement(LOI 1).Athletics as a sport requires high level of skill set.For example, learning to perform the B drill or strides effectively while running was a bit tricky.Nevertheless,I also recognized my glows as even after all these years I had the perfect hand swing while running, which even the coach praised me for.
Overall,I am glad I took up this CAS experience as a part of my activity since it made me achieve the learner profile attribute of “risk-taker†since I tried my best to take a shot at this, despite the uncertainty of the outcome.
