For my CAS experience, I went to Lachhkadi for 7 days where we participated in various activities including farming, cleaning, interaction with local schools and more. Through various activities, we were able to learn many things by interacting with the locals and the local school children.

LO2. Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills

During my tour, I encountered many first-time challenges in the fields of farming, manufacturing, and field cleanup. The employees there helped me acquire new abilities by providing examples of them. I was told that I needed to farm the completely grown turmeric to start fresh farming operations. It was quite difficult, and it took me some time to find out how to do the same without harming the nearby plants and fields. I was directed to remove any extraneous self-grown vegetation from the fields to allow the plants to fully absorb the nutrients.

L5. Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively

Working together with others can save time and boost output. We were split up into teams and assigned specific areas to cultivate to expedite and reduce the amount of time needed for farming. Additionally, when we went to the local school, we were split up into multiple groups for various activities and painting lessons, which helped the kids learn more in less time. Along with making new friends, I worked with other students.

L6. Engagement with issues of global significance

I was able to connect with students at government schools and have one-on-one interactions with them. One significant worldwide concern is the absence of high-quality education and global knowledge that youngsters in rural areas don’t get enough of.

L7. Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions

A number of ethical dilemmas that came up during my absorption in the country required serious consideration. As I became more interested in my surroundings and environment, I became conscious of how my actions and decisions affected the general well-being of others around me. Decisions that might appear unimportant—like how to manage resources or take part in local customs—take on new significance in this environment. I became more conscious of the consequences of my presence and behaviour, which made me recognise how important it is to consider ethics when making decisions. This event has had a significant impact on how I view accountability and the necessity of making deliberate decisions.
