For my cas experience I went to Igatpuri where we had our 2 trekking sessions planned. In the first trekking session we trekked on a nearby mountain and during that trek we got a basic idea of how a trek is. On the second trek we went to a bit difficult and longer trek to another mountain where I learned how trekking is supposed to be done and how we should trek and it was a bit challenging for me as it was my first long trek but eventually I got the grip of it and finished the trek.

L1.Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

We started the first day with a trek in the morning, and while it seemed easy at first, I found that it got harder as it went on. Even though I was getting exhausted, I persisted and finished the walk. However, the hike made it clear to me that I needed to improve both my fitness and stamina. Another difficulty I had was interacting with the locals when we visited the government school close by. Because of my limited language skills, I found it difficult to engage in conversation and interact with the students.

L4: Show Commitment to and Perseverance in CAS Experiences

My trekking experience in Igatpuri truly tested my commitment and perseverance. The first trek served as a foundation, providing me with a basic understanding of trekking. However, it was the second, more challenging trek that really pushed me out of my comfort zone. As it was my first long trek, I initially struggled with the physical demands and felt overwhelmed. Despite this, I remained determined to finish the trek. With each step, I focused on my goal and gradually built my stamina and confidence. By the end, I not only completed the trek but also felt a sense of accomplishment for overcoming the challenges I faced. This experience taught me the value of persistence and commitment to my goals, reinforcing the idea that growth often comes from pushing through difficulties.

L5. Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively

Because there was a lot of trash strewn about the dam and cleaning it would take more than one person, everyone had to work in teams, with one person holding the trash bag while the others picked up the waste. Collaboration and teamwork were key factors in this project’s success.

LO6 – Engagement with issues of global significance.

One of the main problems was the filth in the rural areas. To address this, we decided to clean the dam, which gave me the opportunity to address this worldwide issue. The lack of education was another problem, so we spent time teaching some lessons and playing games with the impoverished kids at the government school. These activities addressed Goal 6 by cleaning the dam as well as Goal 3 of the Sustainable Development Goals.
