LO2 ( DEMONSTRATE THAT CHALLENGES HAVE BEEN UNDERTAKEN, DEVELOPING NEW SKILLS IN THE PROCESS)
This project underwent a lot of challenges, developing new skills as being one of the leaders comes with a lot of responsibilities and requires a lot of communication which have always been one of the main challenges for me therefore one of the most important challenges which was undertaken was communication for me. As far as developing new skills, I did learn how to make decisions on the spot and how to deal with problems that require instant solutions and that was the skill which I developed.
LO7 ( RECOGNIZE AND CONSIDER THE ETHICS OF CHOICES AND ACTIONS )
LO4 (SHOW PERSEVERANCE AND COMMITMENT IN CAS EXPERIENCE)Â
Since it was my cas project, commitment towards this project was very important as all the responsibilities were divided and each member was responsible for those, therefore despite facing several difficulties such as communication with volunteers, teachers, other teammates, researching about the required materials and creating the hype for the event towards teachers. To show perseverance and commitment towards the project was majorly fulfilled.
LO5 ( DEMONSTRATE THE SKILLS AND RECOGNIZE THE BENEFITS OF WORKING COLLABORATIVELY )
This played a major role while working as a team for a while to get this event together as I had problems collaborating with people, however I did realise the benefits when it comes to teamwork. There were certain days where I couldn’t attend the meetings with the supervisor or the volunteers, but my teammates were able to do it which was the perk of it. Also there were a lot of challenges i had to face personally because my communication skills lacked so my teammates stepped in and helped with that. Not every member of the team is good at everything so it was helpful when they could fulfill each other’s flaws.
LO3 ((DEMONSTRATE HOW TO INITIATE AND PLAN A CAS EXPERIENCE)
This LO played a major role as planning an entire event is a big responsibility, as it requires communicating, constantly keeping the teachers in loop and making sure all the volunteers know their responsibilities. To make sure everything went according to plan, there was a timeline created to ensure that all tasks were completed and on time as that was important. Every task given to every person was completed on time. The first thing was to gather and finalise everything which were the dates, time, dress code and activities which were going to be held on the day. The second was to roll out the form inviting all the staff to enroll. After rolling out the form, the next part was to plan out the decor and the ideas about the same, since the budget was limited, all the decorations were supposed to be within that. After deciding upon the ideas for the decorations, the next step was to roll out a form to enroll their volunteers for the event who were willing to put stalls and help with the decorations. However, we did miss out on one major part which was creating a hype for the event which will make teachers enroll in the event. After everything, the only part remaining was to execute since everything else was done and decided.
LO7 ( RECOGNIZE AND CONSIDER THE ETHICS OF CHOICES AND ACTIONS )
The planning of this event held one of the key aspects for me in terms of the ethical disposition of my decisions. As the lead, I needed to ensure that responsibilities were fairly allocated among my teammates without unduly burdening anyone. Moreover, ensuring honesty and a level of transparency with the volunteers and teachers proved to be critical in maintaining trust and accountability. These experiences taught me that leadership is not just about planning and executing but also about thoughtful and ethical choice-making that affects the entire team.
