An obligatory CAS experience turned into a wonderful adventure when we arrived at the adjacent animal sanctuary, the Nature Club. The chance to assist with the care of a broad range of rescued animals, such as guinea pigs, dogs, cats, parrots, and pigeons. Everything about the event seemed thrilling and rewarding.

L2. Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills

Helping in animal shelter surat was quite interesting and challenging for me as it was my first time providing for animals of which few them I never had heard of like emus. Over there I learned a lot of new things like the food for animals should be cut within a size that is not to big otherwise it can get stuck inside the animals mouth. I also learned how do we fed animals and what type of food do they eat.

L6. Engagement with issues of global significance

The practical job of preparing and feeding the animals was only one aspect of the experience. Seeing the dedication of the Nature Club staff made me aware of the necessity of animal rescue on a worldwide scale. They represented the front lines in the fight against neglect and mistreatment of animals. Seeing the animals at various stages of their recovery from their timid initial appearance to their playful confidence in their adoptive companions highlighted the value of ethical pet ownership and the impact shelters have on animal welfare across the globe. It was clear that the well-being of these rescued animals touched people well outside of their community, highlighting how widespread animal welfare issues are.

L5. Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboartively

I was not the only one working at Animal shelter but there many others there too. There I learned the benefits of working together and how does it make it every task very easy to perform as over there few people were assigned to clean the cages, few very told to chop the food, few were told to feed the animals and more. This made the task very efficient as each step was having few people working on it making the work easy and time effective.
