Over the past four weekends, I had the opportunity to participate in a series of community cleanups organized by our school. These cleanups took place on the beaches and roads around our city, where a group of students, including myself, dedicated time and effort to preserving our environment. Working together, we focused on removing litter and pollutants, contributing to a cleaner and healthier local ecosystem. This experience not only highlighted the importance of environmental conservation but also tested our commitment and responsibility toward a global issue that affects everyone.
L04 – [Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience]
Participating in the community cleanups every weekend for 4 weeks demonstrates a strong commitment to preserving the environment. Despite possible challenges like time management, physical exertion, or weather conditions, I persevered and consistently contributed to the cause. This shows my dedication to making a positive environmental impact and staying committed to a long-term project.
LO6 – [Engagement with issues of global significance]
Environmental preservation is a global issue that affects ecosystems, human health, and climate change. By participating in beach and road cleanups, I engaged with this significant issue on a local level, helping reduce pollution and raising awareness about the importance of keeping our surroundings clean. This experience allowed me to directly contribute to the global effort to combat environmental degradation.
LO7 – [Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions]
Cleaning up litter and pollutants from beaches and roads made me reflect on the ethical responsibility we all share in protecting the environment. I became more aware of how individual actions, like littering, negatively impact the planet, and how collective efforts can make a difference. This experience reinforced the importance of making ethical choices in daily life, such as reducing waste, recycling, and encouraging others to adopt environmentally friendly habits.
