The initial purpose was to give our seniors a really memorable to farewell with lasting remembrance.This year, I was able to be part of the core committee as a decor coordinator.In this I had given responsibility on the main theme of farewell, planning and executing the decorations and managing the budgets for all the resources.This role allowed me to contribute creatively while ensuring that every details came together to create unforgettable farewell for seniors. Additionally we also had to collaborate with other committee members to coordinate with logistics, games and dance to ensure a smooth execution of the event.Because of the very compact budget we had to prepare our decorations within the budget which sort of was hard but at the end we were able to manage to create this event for the seniors.The teamwork and collaboration among committee members were essential in overcoming this challenges and achieving our main goal.

LO3 – Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience

As the decor coordinator, initiating and planning the farewell event required careful organisation and time management. With the team, we had to outline the theme, design the decorations, and ensure the budget was aligned with our vision. One of the biggest challenges was sourcing affordable materials without compromising on the overall aesthetic. We came together and created a detailed plan that involved prioritising key elements of the decor, allocating resources efficiently, and managing timelines for a successful event. This planning process also required constant adjustments as new challenges came, such as last-minute logistical changes or resource shortages. By staying adaptable and maintaining clear communication with my team, we were able to implement this plan that ensured the event came together as visioned. and was a great success overall.

LO5 – Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively

Collaboration was a key factor in the success of the farewell event. Working alongside other committee members handling logistics, organising games, and choreographing dance performances required teamwork and communication. One of the biggest challenges we faced was working within a tight budget and deadline, which meant coordination with the logistics and finance teams to ensure that resources were used efficiently. Despite these limitations, our collaborative efforts allowed us to divide responsibilities effectively, which helped the event run smoothly.Each members brought their strenghts to the table and by working together we managed to make decorations and exceeded our expectations.This whole experience taught how essential teamwork is to overcome any challenges as well as effective communications with all the members.

To conclude, being part of the core committee for farewell was an enriching experience that helped me to develop in many areas. As decor coordinator, I was able to contribute creatively while learning the importance of planning and being organised in each task to not miss any deadlines. Despite the challenges, such as last minute changes and a limited budget, we were able to put together the farewell. The experience taught me valuable lessons in teamwork, communication, time-management skills, and problem-solving.
